Using muddy trails is serious maintenance and safety concern. Ridge to Rivers also offers helpful information on their website.
Erosion ruts are perhaps the greatest maintenance concern along the sloping single-track foothill trails. Maintaining rain bumps, dips, or turns that have been designed to allow rain water to leave the single-track trail prevents extensive erosion ruts that form and become deeper and deeper over time.
Please report erosion rut areas that may require additional maintenance.
